Lindy, I agree with Marcy. Years ago, when we accidentally found out that SAS was abandoning the VM/CMS release of it's product (without properly notifying the customers), we strongly lobbied for SAS to make it's product available for Linux on the mainframe. This would allow a reasonable move for customers that had the CMS product and wanted to stay on the same box. I spoke to several people higher up in SAS and the only thing I saw as a result was a SAS ballot question to see if there is interest. Looking at the results, I would say there was. However, no product yet nor a statement of direction.
Sometimes you have to release a product and allow the customers to come. We tested an Alpha release and it ran just fine. I don't think there would be a lot of development needed here. It would be the least SAS can do for it's VM customers, those like us who have been using their product since the begining. Aria.
