That happens if X forwarding is turned on.  YaST looks to see if DISPLAY is 
set.  If so, it invokes the QT-enabled version.

That will cause PuTTY to set DISPLAY.

I'm a little surprised though.  Normally the error message is about being 
unable to connect to an X server.  Not a S0C1.  Oh well.
