Yup, that's a square 1.5 km on a side, 2,250,000 square meters or about 556 acres. Not a bad sized farm in most places.....
The farm's far from square, and a little less than half that. For those partial to a drop, Devil's Lair is nearby.
Back on topic; take a look at the web page that the presentation is posted on (http://www2.hursley.ibm.com/decimal/). There is some interesting information there, as well: IBM has added support for the decimal types in XL C/C++ for AIX and Linux and z/OS, and in DB2 for z/OS, and is also adding support to many other software products including DB2 V9.2 for Linux/Unix/Windows, z/VM V5.2, Enterprise PL/I, the dbx debugger, and Debug Tool Version 8.1.
I particularly noticed gcc got a mention. I've long missed PL/1. th decimal data types, I might bend my mind to C at last. -- Cheers John -- spambait [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please do not reply off-list ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
