Thanks for that. The XML stuff is mostly done already. It's the tools for operator and developer use for "controlling" the system we are now starting to look at, so these will be essentially custom utility code.

It provides both the ability to do the XML munging in a controlled way (helps prevent stupid pilot error), plus the ability to construct much more sophisticated interfaces if you want to do it.
