Works fine, AFAICT. What's the problem? > I am told this is an NFS authentication daemon for windows clients to > authenticate and do NFS mounts from Linux NFS server. pcnfsd maps UID values for Windows NFS clients from a plaintext login, forcing NFS to do minimal access controls based on that uid. Note that no encryption is performed on the credentials, so you have passwords crossing the network in the clear. Not Good. > We are trying to get windows servers to do NFS mounts of Linux > filesystems. Samba is more secure (and more reliable, IMHO). You also don't have to touch the clients. > Any suggestions for a windows NFS client that works with SLES9 NFS v2/v3 > servers ? Hummingbird NFS, the Sun PCNFS, the Microsoft NFS client in the MS Tools for Unix pack. All work well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
