Works fine, AFAICT. What's the problem?

pcnfsd maps UID values for Windows NFS clients from a plaintext login,
forcing NFS to do minimal access controls based on that uid. Note that
no encryption is performed on the credentials, so you have passwords
crossing the network in the clear. Not Good.

Samba is more secure (and more reliable, IMHO). You also don't have to
touch the clients.

Hummingbird NFS, the Sun PCNFS, the Microsoft NFS client in the MS Tools
for Unix pack. All work well.
