My first thought would be that it isn't a great idea to mount /tmp in Linux memory as that adds to the working set of the machine. If you want memory I would make it a z/VM Vdisk and put /tmp there and let CP handle the memory requirement. But I may be totally off base here. Anybody have numbers about this? Velocity guys?
