You don't need mountpw... if you have a pcnfs client. You do if you
don't have one. That's the way it works on our 5.2 and 5.3 system here. 

Googling about for "pcnfs client for Linux" or "pcnfs client for Unix"
seems to indicate that no pcnfs client exists for non-DOS/Windows
platforms.
