Please note that OCFS2 is not supported for production use on Linux for System z. This is largely due to a lack of extensive enough testing/QA work. There shouldn't be as far as OCFS2 itself is concerned, but as was suggested already, check for firewalls that might now be in between the two systems. A simple "telnet other.system.name 7777" should show if that port is open or not.
