While not directly Linux on Z related, found this little gem after talking to some people at IBM Germany. The Baden-Wurtemburg school administration has created a Linux-based network server appliance designed for school use. Very complete, *very* well documented, and looks like a fire-and-forget install. It's apparently designed to be a replacement for something like Windows Small Business Server, but customized for school applications.
The article is in German, but Google translation does an adequate job. It's worth reading about. http://lehrerfortbildung-bw.de/netz/muster/linux/ Neat stuff. -- db ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
