Folks, I need to purcahse a clue.....I have a Linux guest (SLES10, SP1), running on z/VM 5.3. The directory entry for the guest has a MACHINE ESA 2 statement in it.
Thye Linux guest was booted with only one virtual CPU defined. I would like to define and bring online the 2nd virtual CPU, without having to stop and reboot the Linux image. Can Linux handle the addition of an extar CPU while it is running, and, if so, how? A simple CP DEFINE CPU 1 does add an extra virtual CPU to the virtual machine configuration, but Linux does'n see it automatically.... Thanks and have a good one.
