Then, Marian Gasparovic did a lot of work to document how to further pare
it down. See section 7.5.5 for complete details (book is on
linuxvm.org/present). But the bottom line is that, for SLES 10, these
commands should lose another 100Kb to about 827M:

# rpm -e fvwm2 hfsutils initviocons ntfsprogs pmtools providers usbutils
xfsprogs zsh
# rpm -e bootsplash-theme-SuSE-SLES bootsplash desktop-data-NLD xdg-menu
yast2-powertweak powersave-libs-32bit powersave-libs cpufrequtils-32bit
cpufrequtils
gnome-icon-theme
# rpm -e smpppd ppp wvdial telnet dosfstools dmraid fribidi ipmitool
# rpm -e cups-libs cups-client cups-libs-32bit yast2-printer
yast2-samba-server
yast2-samba-client yast2-cd-creator joe lukemftp yast2-dhcp-server dhcpcd
yast2-tftp-server yast2-firewall yast2-http-server mutt
# rpm -e zmd-inventory wvstreams vlock imlib glib gtk hdparm yast2-tune
yast2-backup
scsi yast2-iscsi-server yast2-iscsi-client OpenIPMI autoyast2
autoyast2-utils gpart
yast2-repair xli
# rpm -e bind-libs bind-libs-32bit bind-utils yast2-dns-server ypbind

We've run with these RPMs deleted for a while and the systems seem to be
fine.
