I remember that in early versions of SuSE that used the /etc/chandev.conf
it required a couple of extra parmeters when going to a qdio guest lan.

Something like this.

qeth1,0x0800,0x0801,0x0802
   add_parms,0x10,0x0800,0x0802,portname:QDIOLAN

I recall seeing this before, but I don't remember it actually stopping the
devices from working.  I just assumed it was some sort of very minor bug
in the driver complaining about something that it shouldn't have.  What
happens after the message comes out?
