Screen is fantastic!  It was the core of my standard working environment back
in the 80's, when I had a VT102 with a serial line to a UNIX box.  I'd keep
about 10 screens active for weeks or months, with shells in most and Emacs in
a couple of others.  I could connect to the same screens remotely too, so I'd
have all that context available no matter where I was.  Now I keep my context
in about 20 xterms spread over 12 desktops on my laptop.  Same idea, but
screens kept my context on the server, where it was safer.
