Screen is fantastic! It was the core of my standard working environment back in the 80's, when I had a VT102 with a serial line to a UNIX box. I'd keep about 10 screens active for weeks or months, with shells in most and Emacs in a couple of others. I could connect to the same screens remotely too, so I'd have all that context available no matter where I was. Now I keep my context in about 20 xterms spread over 12 desktops on my laptop. Same idea, but screens kept my context on the server, where it was safer. - MacK. ----- Edmund R. MacKenty Software Architect Rocket Software, Inc.
