What do you think needs the protection of AV software? (I'm not having a
shot at you, your answer goes to define the kind of information you
need: my choice of motor vehicle is a little unusual, and it's probably
not suitable for you, but it fills my needs quite nicely. And so for AV
software.)
Or maybe even *who* needs to be protected. If you want to use Linux on
I was thinking "what computers and software." If the answer was "zLinux
sytems, to prevent their infection by malware," then the responses
_might_ include much hooting and chortling: while there might be malware
able to infect zLinux systems, it isn't likely to arrive by email.
OTOH protecting client computers running Windows is another matter
entirely, and I'd likely start by replacing Internet Exploder and
Lookout {,Express}.
