I have no idea what is hitting you, but we have the DB2 V9 thin client running
for SAP, talking to DB2 V8 on z/OS via Hipersockets. It may not help you, but
for reference our TCP/IP settings (hsi0 is the Hipersockets, eth0 a Vswitch):
