I really like EVMS, but it's not getting much attention these days, so probably not a good choice for future deployment. I'm seeing positive things with Aperi (www.aperi.org) and there seems to be a good consensus developing with the storage vendors on integrating filesystem management into the storage management tooling, so it's getting a lot of nice things added.
