Try setting up the FTP server as a daemon, not as a process under xinetd. That
works
for me. I connected to one from VSE and it works just fine.

Wrong way.

I want to go from VSE to SLES10 SP2.

What I get is (ftp from CICS):

FTP 192.168.193.161
FTP211I Connecting to Port: 000021 at IP: 192.168.193.161 Id:00
FTP209I Establishing connection to TCP/IP partition
FTP212I Connection has been established
F: 500 OOPS: could not bind listening IPv4 socket
Error: during , OPNFN220 RC=000001F4 RS=00000710
FTP201I FTP Client -- Shutdown --

When going to SLES 9:

FTP 192.168.193.146
FTP211I Connecting to Port: 000021 at IP: 192.168.193.146 Id:00
FTP209I Establishing connection to TCP/IP partition
FTP212I Connection has been established
