We operate in that way and found a major drawback: The physical switches 
operate on the same-box principle, meaning what comes in on one box is sent out 
over LA members on that box. There is no attempt at load balancing by 
forwarding over the ISL to the other box and out to LA members on that other 
box. We ended up with three links on one box and the fourth as failover on the 
other box.
