I've seen that pair of messages in a lot of system logs over the last couple of 
years.  Mostly Intel/AMD of course, just because of the absolute number of 
systems out there.  Most systems I've looked at only had it one or two times in 
the logs, not every hour.  In every case, the minor number is +1 from the last 
actually used minor number.  It doesn't seem to cause any problems that I can 
see, but it is irksome.
