Henry Orton in the UK is trying to resurrect the UK and Ireland VM (and
Linux) User Group.
Please see the statement below. Its in its early stages yet - still
looking for a date and funding from IBM to host.
Anyone interested, please contact Henry Orton, henry_orton (at) uk.ibm.com
"IBM is promoting the formation of a user group for customers running
z/VM and Linux on System z. The initial goals of the group are to share
experiences and information on all aspects of using System z for
virtualizing Linux guests, including receiving topical news and
educational updates from IBM and our Linux distribution partners, and
develop a self-help business and social community. The user group will
be sponsored by IBM but the intention is that it is run by the members.
An interest group subsection will be open to IBM customers who are using
Linux but not enjoying the benefits of System z virtualization.
We plan to kick off with an inaugural meeting in London towards the end
of May, and invite you or a representative from your company to attend.
If you are interested please confirm the approriate person in your
company and provide their contact details."
