Good day,

We are trying to print using CUPS on z/LINUX SLES10-SP2, however noticed
that it does not recognise the ANSI Defined Printer Control Characters

(ie a 1 in column 1 will Skip to line 1 on new page or a - in column 1
will space 3 lines, etc.)

I have used Redbook paper on "Printing with Linux on IBM eserver zSeries
Using CUPS and Samba" and setup the printer (Brother Laser Printer)
using the IBM 4324 (Network Printer 24) Postscript Printer Definition
(PPD).

Doing a LPR -P Printer_name printout.txt, the ANSI characters get
printed out on the page.

Not sure which default Printer driver will enable CUPS to recognise
these ANSI Printer Control Characters.

Also, is there a printer driver / setting in CUPS that automatically
detects the data is greater than 80-90 characters and switches the page
from Portrait to Landscape.

Your assistance is very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Vikesh Bhoola
