Yes, that's proably the best approach and certainly a common
one.....build yourself a 1 DASD rescue system with whatever
tools and apps you need. Then, when a linux guest falls
down, you can simply link to the 1 DASD rescue system, boot
Linux from that, and then mount the falled Linux's file
systems and fix the problem.
