That's a rather strong statement. What isn't stable? If you want sophisticated document management, then you're right that probably CUPS isn't the right solution. OTOH, if all you want to do is print a listing or other similar document on your 8 1/2 x 14 7/8" green-bar paper on your z/VM channel-attached printer, CUPS is sufficient. If they are channel-attached to your z/VM system (they show up with QUERY UR), and you want to use LPR, then you have two choices: 1. Create an LPD print queue in RSCS. 2. Create an LPD print queue with LPSERVE. The first is tres fabu and strategic. The second is easier if you don't already have RSCS.
