Ok thanks. Yes IBM have the dump and a case is opened.
We had the cpuplugd running in one test Linux server, but we have two identical
z/VM system in two identical z10 boxes, and both got the problem.
Anyhow, just in case we have stopped the CPUPLUGD now, and also shutdown
the PVM that just recently got new CTC cables, and this is our 'prime suspect'
;)

I see only two popular ones and those fixes were rolled into 5.3
already so you probably should open an ETR with IBM and get them the
dump. Are you also using CMMA in combination with cpuplugd?
