MY first REAL post here, hope its still active list.
This is from an email that i just sent to IBM about their LCDS thingy. And then
later found out how to get on these so called 'forums' but rather lists.
"Hey IBM,
First I'd like to say, if this is just a bot address, maybe Linux Automated
Ticket System(linuxats), to request a support ticket and not open one, then
give me the ticket and I will type in what follows, otherwise, heres what's up.
I recently signup for the IBM Community Development System for Linux,
http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/linux/support/lcds/ , and was wondering if
there is a way to change the OS that is installed. After getting the system and
all, I asked around the office, and it turns out that our software is very
difficult to run on RHEL or Novell SuSe. Now I am stuck with a system that cant
run the software. Now this system may turn out to be a great aid in getting it
ported to either of those, but in the meantime, its not of much help. So I was
just wondering if there was a way to get another Linux/*nix system installed?
Also I was wondering if there was a way to increase the size of the allocated
disk space, seems to be about 2-3gb in /?Also, just a side note, but in order
to better serve the people who use/plan to use LCDS, I would suggest that you
provide some basic essentials on the servers, such as dev tools pre-installed,
like some compilers, and IDEs. When i first logged in, i was shocked at how it
didn't have Java installed.
Thanks in advance for the help."
I posted this in the hopes that someone here could help me.

What is your end goal? As there aren't any other Linux
distributions supported by IBM on System z, you may be out of luck....
but if you give us details on what you're trying to do, we may be able
to assist.
