Zach and Mark, thanks very much for your input. Plenty to think about

If this is what you're interested in, I recommend reading this: http://tr.im/tvfx After you've got the DB2 Connect Server configured, then you'll want to install either the Data Server Runtime Client or the Data Server Client on each of your Linux guests or LPARS where you'll be hosting the WMB server (or any other applications that need to connect to DB2 for z/OS). Which client install depends on the needs of your applications. The main difference for us is that the Data Server Client includes all the header files, which are needed for compiling C and COBOL applications. I'm not familiar with WMB, so I cannot give you a good recommendation. After you've installed one of the Data Server Clients you can catalog the tcp/ip node of the DB2 Connect Server and it's DB2 instance. This is required if you need to use the type 2 jdbc drivers. Once that's done your applications will each connect to the DB2 Connect Server, which will forward requests to particular host database. Hope that helps. I spent a great deal of time with this a couple years ago when we first got started, so feel free to ask any other questions. I've not done it, but I would suggest starting with DB2 Connect.
