We are currently testing XiP and would like to know if anyone is currently using XiP in their production environment. I wanted to see if XiP is widely use within zLinux - SLES or Red Hat. We were able to configure and test XiP using a DCSS that is set above the highest storage of all guests, this was done on a SLES9 server . But when we try configuring XiP on a SLES10 server, placing the DCSS within a storage gap, we came across problems with the xip-init script. Specifically, with the over-mounting at boot time.
