By "3270" you mean the virtual 3215?  If so, that trail has not only been
blazed, but paved over.  You can even get souvenir glass at the Tourist
Hut.

IBM Operations Manager for z/VM keeps the consoles and lets you switch
from one to the other, issuing commands and seeing reponses.  Scroll
forward and back.
