Correct. No channel-attached tape support at all.

Your only choice is accepting the EOL of z/OS TSM and using it anyway or
switching to an alternate backup tool. FDR/Upstream works well. There are
also open-source backup tools that are more cost effective than TSM and
fairly reliable that would allow you to use the VM and z/OS tape subsystems.
