<<<With the dasd= option set as shown, 293 should have minor number 4 (and thus be dasdb), and 2a9 should have minor number 92 (and be dasdx). Always. At least, according to the way I understand the Drivers doc.<<<
It seems that you specified the dasd= parameter as a kernel parameter - not a module parameter. In SLES11 the DASD device driver is a separate module. Please take a look at the new distribution-specific manual Device Drivers, Features, and Commands as available with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 .'. This book describes only the DASD modul parameter and not the kernel parameter - the cause of this problem. . http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/linux/linux390/documentation_novell_suse.html Dorothea Matthaeus Linux on System z Information Development IBM Deutschland Research and Development GmbH ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
