If you use the X forwarding feature of your SSH client, and you have the xorg-x11-xauth package installed on your Linux system, you won't need to do the export of DISPLAY. Tunneling X over SSH also avoids any problems with firewalls and someone sniffing your X session for passwords, etc. Mark Post ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
