crosstool-NG 1.6.0 has s390 ELF support. This tool allows building a
complete cross development environment for s390 on, for example, a Linux
desktop: binutils, gcc, glibc and friends. It downloads the selected
versions of the tools and build them. It is recommended to add the
install directory to your PATH environment variable to execute the cross
tools.

Hello all!

I'm pleased to announce the release of crosstool-NG 1.6.0!

As usual, there has been quite a number of improvements, new features,
and bug fixes all around. The most notable changes are listed below:

On the architectures side, there is now support for two new archs: s390
(32- and 64-bit variants) and m68k (bare-metal). Also, ARM now defaults
to EABI and has config knobs for noMMU, THUMB and interworking.

As for the C libraries, it should now possible to build newlib on archs
other than AVR32 (ARM tested so far). eglibc has support for user-provided
option groups (a-la uClibc, but simpler).

Available versions have been updated to match upstrweam (where possible).
And of course there are other smaller enhancements, and a lot of bugs have
been fixed.

This marks the end of the 1.5 maintenance branch, and the beginning of
the 1.6 maintenance branch. From now on, we'll follow a 3-month cycle
between releases, which means next release is due late in April.

you'll be added promptly! [*]

Thanks for your attention,

[*] I forgot to update the credits for this release. That should be fixed
in the next release. In the meantime, please refer to the repository
logs for proper attribution. And do yell at me if you think you deserve
   an entry in there! Sorry.
YEM.
