sent this to the DB2-L listserv also ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- had a mystery glitch last night :
the license file on one of my servers disappeared (i.e db2ese_c.lic was nowhere to be found ) and db2licm -l showed that both the ESE and connect licenses were expired. No work could be processed ( bit of an irritation there ) After putting the license files back on the box and using db2licm -a on each, I now see that the licenses are permanent ( again ). db2p...@taxdbp01:~> db2licm -l Product name: "DB2 Enterprise Server Edition" License type: "CPU Option" Expiry date: "Permanent" Product identifier: "db2ese" Version information: "9.5" Enforcement policy: "Soft Stop" Features: DB2 Database Partitioning: "Not licensed" DB2 Performance Optimization ESE: "Not licensed" DB2 Storage Optimization: "Not licensed" DB2 Advanced Access Control: "Not licensed" DB2 Geodetic Data Management: "Not licensed" DB2 pureXML ESE: "Not licensed" IBM Homogeneous Federation ESE: "Not licensed" IBM Homogeneous Replication ESE: "Not licensed" Product name: "DB2 Connect Unlimited Edition for zSeries" License type: "Host Server and MSU" Expiry date: "Permanent" Product identifier: "db2consv" Version information: "9.5" ------------- Any insight as to why these licenses vanished all-of-a-sudden would be greatly appreciated - can't find anything suspicious in any of the logs : DB, system, or tripwire Any suggestions on any specific log to look in on the system side also welcomed - SuSe linux and I are just getting acquainted with each other.
