Hmmm - in the rabbit hole that Alan inhabits this is a no doubt
perfectly logical.
Somewhat like "real" hipersockets versus virtual hipersockets ... ;-)

Performance analysts and such seem to like things expressed in things
they deem (non variant) constants.
I guess if we never tell them, they'll not worry too much.
