Well, since Mike is taken an early retirement package from IBM,
hopefully we'll bee seeing him around the Net and Rexx listserves some more.

One other tool that Mike is responsible for that has not been mentioned
yet is LEXX, The Live Parsing Editor. It's still one of my favorite
editors and demonstrates what the intelligent use of the 3270
architecture can really accomplish. Thanks, Mike!

Another good tool for doing Rexx-based GUI programming on workstations
(Windows, OS/2, Linux) is the RexxDW package. Rexx/DW provides Rexx
programmers with a lightweight, cross-platform GUI package. Rexx/DW uses
Dynamic Windows to provide the cross-platform GUI that runs natively on
Windows, OS/2 and GTK+. It can be found here:

I mentioned AmigaDOS and its support for REXX just a week or two ago
to one of the architects at work.

Have been working with "Rexx/Tk" to do graphics with REXX for a class
that I am teaching. Tk started as an add-on to Tcl, but is now used
with many languages, including Perl.

REXX changed IBM computing and how those lucky enough to know REXX get
their work done.

Funnily enough I first encountered REXX when it became the standard
scripting language in AmigaOS around 1990, where it had the
novel-to-me property of being able to script and control GUI functions
in programs.
