I guess what I'm really looking for is the equivalent to mkinitrd on Debian. Again, I can configure the two LUNS to be multipath'd,
mpath1 (360050768019281af7000000000000153) dm-1 IBM ,2145 [size=3D3.7G][features=3D0][hwhandler=3D0] \=5F round-robin 0 [prio=3D0][active] \=5F 0:0:0:32 sde 8:64 [active][undef] \=5F 0:0:1:32 sdf 8:80 [active][undef] \=5F 1:0:0:32 sdg 8:96 [active][undef] \=5F 1:0:1:32 sdh 8:112 [active][undef] mpath0 (360050768019281af7000000000000152) dm-0 IBM ,2145 [size=3D3.7G][features=3D0][hwhandler=3D0] \=5F round-robin 0 [prio=3D0][active] \=5F 0:0:0:31 sda 8:0 [active][undef] \=5F 0:0:1:31 sdb 8:16 [active][undef] \=5F 1:0:0:31 sdc 8:32 [active][undef] \=5F 1:0:1:31 sdd 8:48 [active][undef] I just can't get the definitions to hold across a reboot, as in with SuSE after you've run mkinitrd and zipl. I found the command "update-initramfs" which seems to be the equivalent to mkinitrd, but it stills doesn't work for me. Debian doesn't appear to use mkinitrd command... -----Original Message----- From: Wiggins, Mark Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2010 3:20 PM To: 'Linux on 390 Port' Subject: RE: Question about multipathing on zDebian (Lenny) Ohhh, I thought that you might have it, but unfortunately, the hwup-ccw-zfcp command (the only one the I can find), looks for config-ccw, not config-zfcp, thanks though. Also, the zfcp, dm_multipath, and some various scsi_ modules are all properly loaded as well. -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sterling James Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2010 3:06 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Question about multipathing on zDebian (Lenny) I'm not familiar with zDebian (Lenny); but if it's suse-like should that be; /etc/sysconfig/hardware/config-zfcp-0.0.a200 vs /etc/sysconfig/hardware/config-ccw-0.0.a200 In Redhat, you need a /etc/zfcp.conf and /etc/modprobe.conf needs to contains "alias scsi_hostadapter zfcp" Both need the mkinitrd and zipl.
