That is what I have done on real systems (ORACLE RAC) running OEL5 where external access was on one NIC and inter-RAC communications was on an internal network through another NIC. I had to put a GATEWAY= statement in each icfcfg-ethx file and I had the DEFAULT gateway listed in the /etc/sysconfig/network.
