Two weeks left before the VM Workshop at OSU. The grid is now pretty much complete. You can view it at _www.vmworkshop.org_ (http://www.vmworkshop.org) ..
General Sessions include: John Franciscovich (IBM) will open the workshop with an update on the VM Platform. Bill Carico will be doing the keynote on Day 1. Bill has been a mainframe advocate for more than 20 years and often presents as an IBM keynote speaker at mainframe events. Buzz Woeckener (Nationwide) is our kickoff speaker for Day 2. Buzz has managed the Nationwide Linux and System z team to what is one of the largest Linux on System z operations in the nation. Buzz has an excellent understanding of the business case for Linux on System z and will describe how it changed the direction of IT at Nationwide. Tom Befi (ISO). Tom manages Technology and Operations at ISO. Tom will discuss ISO's experience and challenges with Linux on System z and ISO's future plans for Linux on System z. This should be an excellent opportunity for many of us to hear a Linux on System z success story; what worked at ISO and what didn't. You can see the rest of the grid on the workshop web site. There will be a reception (dinner, et al) on Thursday evening and box lunches will be provided on Thursday and Friday. See you there.
