I don't know of a special console driver. We logon to the vm guest without any problem, then get a linux prompt and logon with a userid and hit enter. As you saw below, the screens kinda do their own thing.
We never have a chance to enter the password -- it just, in this case replayed the login incorrect message three times. This happens with a non root userid also. Its as if someone is magically hitting enter twice - so the password never gets entered.
