For your remaining problem: Have you upgraded your system from SLES10? In this case you may still have old configuration files /etc/sysconfig/hardware/hwcfg-hsi-bus-ccw-0.0.7000 or /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-hsi-bus-ccw-0.0.7000.
