Before I take the plunge and join an iSeries list, I was wondering whether
one of you out there may not the answer. I am trying to use the shell
environment that i7 et alii provide and want to compile some programs I¹m
porting from Linux. In /usr/bin there is ixlc which looks like the ILE C/C++
compiler. It's a symlink to /qsys.lib/qdevtools.lib/qczcxlc.pgm which does
exist:
-rwx---r-x 1 qsys 0 65536 Nov 21 10:22 /qsys.lib/qdevtools.lib/qczcxlc.pgm

However, when I try and execute it I get:

[/home/u0011270/test] ixlc -?
ixlc: cannot execute

So (a) is invoking ixlc the way to compile programs from the shell command
line, and (b), if not what is?
