Scientific Linux is essentially a more controlled version of Fedora with a bunch of science-oriented packages installed by default. A Fedora port for s390x exists, and if you take a package list from a SL install on Intel, you can probably get something very similar to SL built pretty quickly. Otherwise, you're looking at porting a lot of stuff -- an entire distribution. You can do the builds, but the integration will be a lot of work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For more information on Linux on System z, visit http://wiki.linuxvm.org/
