You're definitely going to need the lvm2-clvm package, but I would be extremely cautious about trying to pick and choose which things to install when dealing with HA. There are a lot of (fairly small) moving parts that all need to be there and working together to insure data integrity. The whole extension is only about 50 packages, and that's counting the -devel ones.
