Dan, I gave up on FEDORA17 and gave FEDORA18 a try... Much nicer interface! I finally got F18 to install but had the following problems. My installation choices required 1.15G DASD I dedicated a 3390-3 disk (about 2.4G) but the installer said it wasn't enough, the old filesystem had to be removed. I was OK with this since the disk had been formatted (LXFMT) there was a label & VTOC entry. I tried to delete the space (it only allowed me to do this twice then it went to sleep forever) but the space was never reclaimed.
Finally I dedicated 2 3390-3's (about 5G) to the installation and this time it allowed me to delete/reclaim space, and the install continued untill a normal completion. Another minor irritant was I could not figure what to put in the PRM file so I wouldn't have to keep typing in the install source path on each attempt. http://s390.koji.fedoraproject.org/tree/test/20121213/s390x/os/images/ And lastly I see these messages keep popping up on the VM screen.. Other than that it seems to be working OK. [52128.279125] systemd[1]: systemd-logind.service holdoff time over, scheduling restart.
