Query for Destination z article -- APARs and siblings

The word "APAR" is like a Swiss Army knife: it's a noun, verb, epithet,
four-letter word, and it's short for "authorized program analysis
report". But when does anyone say that mouthful?

So I'll write about APAR severities -- definitions, misconceptions,
uses, misuses, and experiences -- combining IBM's official definitions
of APAR (problem report) severities, plus real-world uses/issues. And
sibling alphabet soup: PTFs, PMRs, and others I've forgotten (so remind
me), and SHARE requirements.

I'll include similar information -- problem reporting, severities, etc.
-- from other vendors. That's often where confusion/friction arises,
when procedures/definitions/priorities differ from IBM's better-known
details.

So, I'd like IBM and ISV-related comments, suggestions, experiences,
references from IBM and ISVs. Changes since the beginning?
Expectations/hopes for the future?

I'd like this to be inclusive, so I'd like to hear about all System z
operating systems. I usually get plenty of responses on two of these,
less on the other two (and you all know which is which). So chime in if
you want your favorite system represented.

It's the usual relatively short article, so brief is best. And please
copy replies to me so I don't miss them in list digests.
