Hello! How many of us have read the book, "When HARLIE was one"? It is an excellent book, and the author is someone we should all know (of) by now. He and the author of the book referenced were good friends. It happens that HARLIE had an annoying sense of humor that was similar to the one shown by the system from that book. Incidentally the input-output devices were in fact magnetic storage typewriters. Group let us not forget Watson, the system that IBM came up with, and won a Jeopardy game. He is a rather capable system, and is nearly as capable as most people, and also has a good sense of humor. And may even be consulted by his designers for further updates. We are rapidly approaching the technology ideas suggested by science fiction. ----- Gregg C Levine [email protected] "This signature fought the Time Wars, time and again." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For more information on Linux on System z, visit http://wiki.linuxvm.org/
