If you wish to connect to the Linux guest under z/VM you will need to use the Linux guest IP address. I believe this is what you want to do with RDz.
z/VM is only the hypervisor supporting many types of guests which generally have their own IP. VM will have one or more IP addresses for itself in the event you wish to connect and logon to the guest, commonly a CMS guest, or you may wish to logon to the Linux guest in the event you wish to issue CP (hypervisor commands) on behave of you Linux guest. LPAR is a partition that general z/VM runs in but you may have a LPAR just running Linux without z/VM. Hope this helps Hans -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Cameron Seay Sent: November-10-13 10:26 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RDz and VM Has anyone connected to a VM Linux server using RDz? I'm a regular RDz user, and see the connection parameters for VM but I am doing something wrong. Do I put in the IP address of my server or the LPAR where the server lives and log in to the guest as opposed to the server.
