The way the smsgiucv_app driver is written, the characters "APP" must be the first thing in the string being sent. If that is done, then kernel udev events are generated on the receiving system. Udev rules can be written to do useful things with those messages. See Richard Lewis' SHARE presentation on that at https://share.confex.com/share/122/webprogram/Session14591.html To my knowledge, there is currently nothing pre-built that will do what you need.
