Had the same thing happen long ago with a COBOL compiler. Programmers did something that the book plainly said was not supported. But it worked, so they used it. I applied a COBOL PTF and the statement was flagged as an error. The programmers screamed like a <something not publishable>. But I pointed out that the compiler was working as documented and the fact that they didn't know how to properly code COBOL was not my problem. I was nastier back then. -- There is nothing more pleasant than traveling and meeting new people!
