Yea Alan, I kind of figured that something like that was going on. I don't specify any MACID on the NICDEF or any SET NIC commands. There must be something in the SUSE11 installation script. I'm using xCAT (z/VM 6.3) to do the provisioning. It all seemed to be working as shown in the xCAT tutorial (SourceForge) but something is going on here.
I'll keep digging.
